FAQs

How much does it weigh?

Weighs 13 pounds

How big a backpack can it carry?

Backpacks never get taller, they only get wider.  There are 21 inches between the tires and plastic tire guards.  Wider bags fit too, although some impact on the backpacks side compartments will / could occur.

Can it carry other things besides backpacks?

Absolutely,  Stickman Carts love to go camping.  Carry stones, camping gear, coolers, barrels, etc.  The cart has 4 tie-down points to hold your bungee straps or ropes and secure  the items.   Idea!  Place plywood or a box on the cart platform to move irregular objects and protect the cart from damage.

Why mahogany?

Mahogany wood is a wise selection for any outdoor furniture due to its’ dimensional stability.  Many species of wood are unsuitable choices when exposed to the elements This mahogany came from Africa.  African mahogany export may be coming and we don’t want to be one of those folks adding to the forest depletion.  Seeking alternative sustainable species of wood is ongoing.

Are the gaps in the wood joints a problem?

No, joints are held by strategically located screws, both hidden and visible.  No glue is used to fasten the joints.

Is there a putter pouch?

No, there was no need to have one because backpacks have putter storage.

How does the umbrella holder work?

The umbrella holder is a 1.5 inch round tube and intended to hold a 1.5 inch diameter round handle.  The best umbrella grips are soft foam and cylindrical in shape, without taper.  If the umbrella handle is small and slips down the tube, place a thin cloth about the grip to prevent slipping or purchase the recommended umbrella.  Note: there are so many styles of umbrella grips, we chose a common style grip that is readily available.

Does the cart have a seat?

A seat affixed to the cart frame is unlikely, it would impact backpack access.   Every decent athletic cart should have a seat offering.  We have a seat stick under development, a mahogany stick with a bike seat on top..  It’s comfortable and takes the pressure off the legs.  It’s also detachable from the cart and can be taken anywhere.  If interested in our seat stick, contact us for more information.

What is the warranty?

We have a one year warranty on normal failures and defects.  Contact us and we’ll get your cart rolling again asap.

What are carry straps?

Carry straps come in handy when difficult obstacles are encountered, such as a 200-foot stretch of pallets through a swampy section or lengthy staircases.  Just click on the carry straps to the factory-installed eye hooks and sling the entire cart with the backpack on your back.  It is very comfortable to carry.  Stow carry straps in a backpack compartment when not needed or leave them attached.

What about a cell phone holder?

Yes, the head of the cart has two 5 inch long dowels, each dowel being 1 inch diameter.     One inch diameter tubing is common in strollers, golf carts and bicycles.  Acquire a desirable cell phone holder assembly and  clamp tightly to a cart dowel.

Can the cart serve as a camera tripod?

Yes, it was designed as such.   Position your cart and cell phone holder appropriately, then film your scenes or practice sessions

Is it better to push or pull the cart?

Pulling is easier than pushing.    Front wheel drive cars have kinda proved that long ago.    When pulling the cart, your body and cart develop inertia and obstructions are easily overcome.   Pushing is uncommon because you can’t see what’s coming in front of the cart.  Going downhill, the cart goes first and you follow steering during the descent.

Who makes this cart?

Stickman did.   Just kidding.   These carts were designed, tested and hand made in New Hampshire by PDGA #83982
